Jim Pla (only 15 years old) was forced to race in the lower part of the field in Race 1 after a poor qualifying session, finishing 16th. He started a much better 11th on Sunday and was aiming for a top 10 finish before falling victim to Brazilian Geronimi's foolish move at the chicane. His encouraging progression was not met with the anticipated result but there is certainly no lack of potential.
