Formula BMW Europe: top 10 slot for Jim Pla in Barcelona
Jim Pla started his 2009 season today when the first round of the Formula BMW Europe series got underway in Barcelona, in support of this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix. The Frenchman qualified on the fifth row, about half a second adrift from poleman Felipe Nasr.
"I’m happy to be back in the car, commented the Gravity junior, but I was also hoping for a better result in qualifying. I was amongst the fastest on my first set of tires but I couldn’t repeat that performance on my second set, and that set me down the ranks a bit. There may have been a tire pressure problem and we will be looking into it. But I’ll be on the attack as soon as the lights go green tomorrow as I’m determined to score some good points in this first race.”
