The cadet Formula BMW driver Jim Pla failed to score a significant result at Hockenheim, but remains hopeful for the future: "On Saturday, I went from 23rd to 18th on the first lap, and then I was right behind David Mengesdorf in 16th position", said the DAMS driver. "On lap 5, I lost a few spots after a contact with Harkema who had braked on the damp part of the track. In race 2, I passed three cars on the first lap and moved up to 14th before making a mistake on lap 9 and losing two positions. I'm perfectly aware of the fact that I need to do better and our margin of progress is certainly big. I'll be looking for a top 10 result at the next race at Budapest."
