Jim Pla concludes season with Macau podium !

Gravity driver Jim Pla was among a handful of European Formula BMW contenders who entered last weekend’s Asia/Pacific round of the series on the treacherous Macau street circuit, which also hosted the famed F3 Grand Prix and the final race of the WTCC championship.

The young Frenchman raced with the Eurointernational team and qualified on the second row right behind teammates Will Buller and Felipe Nasr. “As is often the case at Macau, the start was eventful and I had a slight contact with Nasr which enabled Buler to take the lead at the first corner. My car suffered a bit of damage but nothing that really hampered its performance. After the safety-car period, I put Buller under pressure, catching him in the twisty portion of the track while he pulled away on the long straights. He made a mistake at the hairpin but it was too late to overtake him, so I settled for second place in the end. In any case, racing here was great experience and one I hope to capitalize on in 12 months time when hopefully I will be back here in a F3 car. This winter, I’ll be testing for various teams before defining with Gravity’s  management my 2010 race program.”
