Jim Pla makes great strides at Spa !
In the 13th and 14th rounds of the Formula BMW Europe championship at Spa this weekend, Jim Pla achieved his best results to date finishing both heats in the top 8 after two remarkable performances.
In race 1 on Saturday, the young Frenchman started a distant 19th but once the lights turned green, he consistently carved his way through the pack, crossing the line 8th after a splendid drive. "I was a little further up on Sunday's grid, 12th actually, and had a good start which put me up to 8th by the time the safety car came out. After that, I fought with Gutierrez, passed Mengesdorf and overtook Huertas and Wittmann on the last lap for 4th place ! I'm really happy to have been on the pace here and achieve these two solid results, and the team has also made some good progress as Kevin's win proves. We'll try to keep up the momentum and do just as well at Monza next weekend."
